I am 34 years old and five years ago I decided to change direction and self-study software development.

With previous knowledge of SQL, I started with HTML and CSS, proceeded into JavaScript, Bootstrap, and Ajax, through to PHP.

I used what I learned to create something I could use myself - a budget website to keep track of family expenses.

Putting it all together - creating a DRY code, making PHP push queries to the databases, seeing the first token-based user validation email - was a lot of excitement and something I can be proud of.

I am looking for more of it. I am looking to join an environment where I can learn and contribute, and I have plenty to.

I can work through problems, work well with others, and I can Google-fu my way through any problem. I will be happy to work together and show what I can do.
